The Communist Party of China (CPC) is celebrating its 100th founding anniversary. The Party like a sun has given out enormous light on the life of Chinese people during the past century. One hundred years ago, a few young and passionate men met in a building in the French concession, Shanghai, then they moved to a small boat in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, less than 100 km to Shanghai where CPC was founded and led the nation towards a road for liberty and prosperity.

Over the past 100 years, CPC has made outstanding contributions towards transforming Chinese people’s lives by keeping socio-economic development and political and governance stability that has been recognized globally. This July, Chinese people will rejoice over the glorious100th anniversary of CPC. There are a lot to celebrate and cherish, including the entire socio-economic revolutionary change of the country which has contributed immensely to people’s lives with a people-centered approach.

Glancing at history, Chinese people faced wars, droughts, poverty, and diseases, but this could not stop the people from moving ahead to fight all odds with confidence. There were challenges at home, regional level and global scale, but victories of the revolution and development changed the course of Chinese history that we witness today.

Since the founding of CPC in 1921, there had been structural reforms within the party as well as steady development of the country at the same time. To understand the internal dynamics of CPC, we need to fully understand how the Party operates and functions through the lenses of Chinese culture, values, and political insight. CPC has developed its solid footing with members of the Party from all ranks of the society, whose contribution of talent and insights made the Party stronger and more forward-looking.

Young people and the leadership have given their sweat and blood to the rejuvenation of the country. Gigantic revolutionary figures like Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, and many others including the incumbent General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping who has steered the nation to a higher level of glory with his wisdom and new version of leadership.

From all ranks of CPC today, we can see brilliant Party leaders who have command of the pulse of the society and ideals to offer insightful paths for the country’s various sectors to grow. These CPC leaders believe in the strength of reform and thus adopt new methods in science and technology to move ahead.

Another important strength of CPC is its members include both men and women from all cadres of the society. According to statistics, there are more than 90 million CPC members in all professions across the country. There are several layers of the membership and the Party functions efficiently.

Young Chinese are the soul of CPC as their energy and strength has made CPC to move forward with confidence and farsightedness. These young people are bringing new ideas to the work of the Party, which may result in feasible strategies that can help the Party keep abreast of all updates. With the advent of new technologies, young people are enhancing CPC’s operation in a better way. The young Chinese are the future of CPC. While recognizing the efforts of the martyrs and sacrifices made by the men and women in the past, the young Chinese are marching forward towards prosperity and creating a shared future for all.

As the 100th founding anniversary of CPC is going to be celebrated, the next glorious era has begun. It is time to bear in mind the togetherness, principles of peaceful coexistence and how the Party has proved its mettle against all difficulties, which is worthy of admiration in the golden chapters of Chinese history.

Today, the way CPC fights against COVID-19 and controlled it on Chinese soil is also impressive, despite being the first victim of the pandemic. Also, vaccines were introduced in the shortest time in this country. Not only were vaccines administered to the local population but China has shared health supplies and vaccines across the world.

With a vision of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China is supporting the world through infrastructure, communication and trade and advancing mutual understanding through dialogues. Hence it helps create peace and prosperity in the world.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an important artery of the larger BRI vision with Gwadar as the crown of the BRI. This year Pakistan and China are celebrating their 70 years’ strong bonding where China is helping Pakistan in poverty reduction, industrial development, agriculture rejuvenation and social welfare. CPC is also providing an opportunity for Pakistani political parties to learn from China’s experience about governance approaches.

CPC truly deserves these glorious celebrations as people with brave and golden hearts fulfilled their promises made over a century ago.
